LOCAL CUISINE: FLAVORS WORTH EXPERIENCING

We know that a great adventure whets the appetite.

We know that a great adventure builds up an appetite. While something very special is “simmering” in our kitchen for the upcoming reopening of our restaurant (where we will soon delight you again with the best of our local cuisine), we want to make sure you enjoy the finest food in the area.

Here is our personal selection of favourites:

Just a step away: Views and Tradition
If you prefer not to go far from the Caminito del Rey, Ardales and El Chorro offer two unbeatable classics:

Yerbagüena Restaurant
Located in the town of Campillos, known for its market‑style cuisine that blends tradition and innovation, with a strong focus on seasonal products and Jerez wines.

Carratraca: The “Casa Pepa” Experience

Visiting Carratraca without stopping at Casa Pepa is almost a sin. This place is not a typical restaurant: it is an old inn that preserves the essence of a traditional home‑style kitchen.

Why go? Don’t expect a menu; here you eat whatever the family has cooked that day with fresh ingredients, just like at your grandmother’s house. It’s so authentic that even Prince Charles of England (now King) stopped here to try their homemade dishes.

Teba: The charm of “El Paripé”

If you feel like discovering the historic town of Teba (famous for its castle and its Scottish connection), we recommend stopping at El Paripé.

What will you find? A place with a fantastic atmosphere (“the illusion you expect”, as they say), where you can enjoy carefully prepared cuisine and warm hospitality that will make you feel like a local.
